This Final Conference is aimed to present the main results gained during the TANGO-Circular Project, in which farmers and agricultural stakeholders have been trained, so as to play a priority role on the most appropriate use of materials employed in agriculture, as well as post-consumer collection and recycling of co-products, by-products, residuals and waste derived from their activities.
Thanks to their upskilling, farmers and agricultural stakeholders may then assume a prominent pro-active role in the valorization of agricultural waste – both organic (i.e., biomass) and non-organic (mostly, agro-plastics) - in the framework of a Circular Economy approach, that may increase their economic returns, while reducing the environmental footprint of agriculture.
The participation of every interested actor involved in the Quadruple-Helix concept – i.e., Public Institutions; private industries/farmer associations; Universities and Research & Technology centers; civil society/no-profit organizations – will enable to discuss and harmonize the latest technologies and systems for valorizing agricultural residuals.
In this event, the results of scientific research and training activities carried out by Universities will be profitably outreached to public and private actors, which would so draw the best directions for increasing their knowledge, considering innovative solutions and gaining precious inspirations from the most qualified experts in the sector of agricultural waste.
